In NYC this week with for spring break! Just got here yesterday... took the red-eye flight out of SF and I got to see the sunrise on the plane, which was very lovely. This isn't my first time in NYC, but the last time I was here it was only for a day so I don't remember it much. We're staying at a cozy apartment in Grenwich Village (actually, a historical building which used to be where composer Charles Ives once lived, as a nice plaque in front of the building kindly informs us.) The only weird there is that there is a tiny cemetary right in front of our apartment... like you could look out the window and you'd be looking over tombstones. O_O! But on the bright side, there's a wonderful cafe two doors down. This is what I love about the city, having been a surburbia girl my whole life... this whole "oh, there are like 20 restaurants within walking distance right around the corner." New Yorkers must be the fittest people in America, because since I've been here I've walked about 4 miles on average per day. This is coming from someone who normally walks about 1000 steps per day. (I should know... I used a pedometer to measure. O_O)
Anyway, the weather is still a bit chilly, but not terrible. No snow or anything, but scarfs are a must at night. Yesterday was a pretty packed day--after getting off the plane, went to our apartment and took a nice nap until the afternoon. Afterwards, we headed out to the Guggenheim museum, which was less cool because the exterior was undergoing renovation >O But the exhibits are nice. Then, we took a walk down Madison and Fifth, ate dinner around midtown, brought tickets to a broadway show for Wednesday, checked out the Toys R' Us at Times Square (soooo fun!) and had coffee at the aforementioned cafe two doors down. Today, met up with a friend from Colombia and visited the Museum of Modern Art. (Yes, I'm a sucker for musuems. The most exciting will be the Met, which I plan to devote the entire next Saturday to. ^__^) Had some superb Argentinian steak for dinner, and capped off the night at Magnolia's (anyone seen the SNL music video lazy Sunday? Magnolia's Bakery is mentioned there.) Mike was really bent on getting some of those cupcakes. They're quite good, I must say, but man the reviews weren't kidding when they said the frosting was sweet. It was the "tooth-hurting" type of sweet. >D
Okay, I'm off to catch the NYC nightlife now. >D Might be a bit slow responding to comments and notes such, but I'll get to them eventually! ^__^ to you all!

Work has been pretty crazy, so I'm super-excited to kick back, relax, enjoy the museums and cafes and tea houses and sights and sounds and romance! =D =D
*rushes off to pack now*
Many Thanks!!!
I had a fantastic time at Otakon last weekend, thanks to all of you who stopped by to chat or buy a print! =) =) There were times when things got pretty hectic, but overall the experience was fantastic! And I got to fill up on plenty of yummy Baltimore food (mm.... I think there were definitely crabcakes just about every day!! and also sushi.)
I also got to see the art auction this year, for the first time, and it was super-exciting! I love how everyone (even the bystanders) just get so excited when caught up in the bidding. Some bidders reeeeaaally know what they want, and some bidders have to think about it for a while or flip a coin. And
Otakon?
Still alive... i really should be posting in my journal more often. =) Anyway, life is pretty good. Lots of work, but facebook is a great company to work at and a lot of fun (plus you get to stalk people all day, hooray! >D)
Besides that, I'm going to Otakon in Baltimore next week! =D Who else is? I'll have a table in the artists' alley selling prints and possibly other things, and probably put a few pieces in the art show as well. Stop by if you're around! I would love to meet everyone. =)
But... given that Otakon *is* around the corner, this has pushed me into an arting mood again. I don't want to feel lame knowing I haven't drawn anythin
