Hooray, the quarter is almost over!
Speaking of comments, I'm really overwhelmed by the positive feedback I've gotten with the last two tutorials! ^_^ It makes me super-happy to hear people find them useful, and I wish everyone the best of luck on all their artistic endeavors. I remember when I was just starting out and tutorials were like Candy to me... I'd eat them up! I even remember my first Really Important Photoshop Tutorial--by Charles Park, oh... like, six years ago.
But really, I like teaching a lot. It's a lot of fun! I did tutoring in high school, I taught beginning computer science for two years as a TA in college (now I teach these people how to teach).
Okay, here's my question for this entry, since it's for a friend's research project:
Do you know computer science and/or any programming? If so, why did you learn it, and do you think it's useful? If not, do you think it's important to learn at some point?
I'm curious to see what you guys have to say.

M o o d - Taking care of loose ends. I have like, a million unfinished things sitting on my harddrive asking to be finished... Of course, I'll get around to finishing one or two of them if I'm lucky... >D >D First up is finishing up the coloring on "Little Shy Ones." I should also post a picture of the completed "lightning girl." The things I'm itching to begin are another flash project starring Rune, and the FFVII eyes project... ^^

Well, I think basic computer science/programming may be necessary and useful
All self-taught, btw >.>;
failed that
it was too boring [ it was more of a math thing, also the computers are distracting lol we just play games while the teacher is lecturing ^^ , though i do find it fun to program stuff on my graphic calculator ]
It was also really fun to go to a district programming challenge that happened recently around my area, but to be truthful... I think programmers have to be more enthusiastic. The satisfaction of completing a problem that's been presented to you is just... ack, can't explain it. But yeah... my partner and I seemed to be the only ones that had to hold in screams of joy when the judges gave us the completion mark for one of the problems. It was either that, or I was too engrossed in the programming to pay attention to the other groups.
O_o I don't think that was very relevant to the question... but it's so much fun talking about it, but there are so few people in my school that pay attention to programmers that... uhh... it's just so much better telling people that are interested?
Uhh... I've also taught myself some of the basics of HTML, just enough to get decent looking webpages... and some smatterings of CSS...
Oh, would computer engineering classes count too? Because I took the grade 10 and 11 courses for that too... the engineering class provided helpful background information for the computer programming class...
I would say that... everyone should learn at least the basic stuff about computers...? I'm not too sure how programming will help in the everyday use of the computer... unless it crashes every 5 minutes or something...
Hope that was somewhat helpful
College... @_@ I have no clue where I'm going to go after high school...
Hahaha... just wait till you get to college... There will be more than enough people to talk to about computer science ^^
um..i'm learning HTML, if that counts.
it's part of a class in school.
i think that it'll be be really useful when i actually learn all that i need to know.
