This one time I had a bug for a friend. It was a cute bug with lots of little spots. I called him Larry. Larry and me had many fun times. We bathed together, slept together, and even watched Gilmore Girls together. We were unseperable. Than I ate him.

Hooray, classes are finished, exams are done, and graduation is near (this Sunday!) Four years of college doesn't seem so long when you look back at it, but I'm sort of glad to be done with it too. At some point I've hit the saturation limit for learning technical skills, and everything since then has been more about applying those skills and chugging through classes. But I guess it's also not so monumental since I'm not technically done-done with school--still have half a year of my master's to finish up so I won't be leaving quite yet. =) Excitingly enough, Tom Brokaw is our commencement speaker, which is super-cool since I grew up watching him on NBC nightly news and have always wanted him to be my grandpa. (Why not? he seems like he knows everything.)

In other news, I started working at facebook as an engineer a few weeks back (yes... the one and only [link]) and it's been a blast. Cool product, cool group of people. Now I can stalk classmates at work and at home, hooray!

Finished playing Kingdom Hearts 2 last weekend too, and got myself a DS Lite so ~goomybear and I play all the time now. We're super competitive in Mario vs. Luigi in New Super Mario Bros. I loooovelovelove the DS! The multi-player capabilities are phenomenal (especially since in most cases you only need one copy of the game among a group of eight people) and it's so addicting to play Tetris or Mario Kart DS. I'm also a big fan of Brain Age and sudoku. =P Kingdom Hearts was pretty enjoyable, although I have to say that King Mickey was much cooler in the first game and also the plot of the first game was much more coherent. Still, expect to see some KH2 fanart if I have the time for it in the next few weeks ^^ disclaimer: my absolute favorite part of the game was 100 acre woods and the Sora/Pooh Bear scenes... ^_^

Also saw some good movies recently--Cars, which I went in with low expectations (since the trailer was so cheesy) and came out thrilled. I guess I shouldn't have underestimated Pixar. =P What a great, funny, feel-good movie! Highly recommended for everyone! I also adored the short about the "One-man Band" and the little girl in it is just about the cutest thing ever!

Everyone, everyone, everyone should go so "An Inconvenient Truth," the documentary by Al Gore about global warning. It's a terrific film, incredibly moving and haunting. I guarantee you will not leave that film without feeling affected by the devastating consequences of global warning, and it's quite sobering in many ways (goodbye Bay Area, NYC, Shanghai?!). It's also very well presented, and Al Gore seems convincing and impassioned. So watch it! And tell me what you thought about it!

Okay... back to packing stuff into boxes. =) I'm also working hard to finish a picture by tomorrow night for =jieyi's Save the Children tarot project... that definitely needs to get done before parents come on Friday for graduation weekend. Happy graduation to all you other seniors out there, and happy summer!

That's so exciting! Congratulations on your pending graduation. And that's great that you have a job! I have to say, I've never heard of Facebook before.

I'm also (probably selfishly) excited that you've got more art coming!

I watched a friend play KH2 last week--it looked really fun! Unfortunately, I missed the Hundred Acre Wood part! I'll have to demand he show me that. It's really too bad that I have no gaming system. D:

I'll probably go see Cars now, but the Trailor was incredibly cheesy. Glad someone agrees. ;)

Anyway, Congrats and good luck!

Actually, the movie Cars was EXTREMELY impressive. I seen it about 1/2 a month ago due to the fact I used to work at a movie theater and had to quit because I had a heart attack. You would think at 19 I wouldn't be having heart attacks. =P

Now that you've left, I see sides of myself I wish I kept around rather than throw them away for you.
