It's a futile question, yes, this I know
but where did you come from... and where will you go?
It's been a while since I drew Rune or any sort of fantasy-themed anime painting. In fact, i haven't been spending *that* much time on the stuff I've uploaded recently, so it's sort of nice to work on a bigger work. I'm pretty happy with how the clothing shading came out (yes! the first time I like ribbons in anything I've drawn!), although I think the face and hair could be improved.
Rune is my character that I like to draw in melancholy settings with birds. Although I just realized I totally forgot about the bird part here. O___o;;

It's Rune-y Rune! I've missed seeing him around in your gallery. ^___^ The one wing can substitute for the birds, methinks, and the colors are so soft and pretty that it doesn't matter if birds are there or not, silly. I really like that background.....it kind of reminds me of swirly purple syrup for some reason, thick and gooey and yummy (maybe grape-flavored). And the cloth tying him up really add to the melancholy!

what's your poem about? ^_^ I think i got the name from a short story I read once called "where did you come from, where are you going?" by Joyce Carol Oates... it's an excellent creepy story, not really related to this picture in the least, but I've always thought the title was cool. >D

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
