Artist's CommentsOnce there was a beautiful glen Where all the swans sang in harmonious din The plants swayed to and fro in glee (and not by any power of wind, you see) But in the evening, when the sky was pink This was the most special time, I think For that was when the bugs came out Glowing softly in the glen about And some were thin and some were fat (the fat ones did glow more, in fact!) The lightning bugs were all around Swaying with the plants to the swan's dear sound And you might think, "oh but they're so sweet!" So shiny and bright and lovely a treat! That's what she thought when she took them home In a glass bottle with two round domes But lightning bugs don't like it at all No sirree, they like to fly high and tall And after the capture was all said and done She discovered dead lightning bugs are not very fun The final image from the eyes tutorial [link] and the digital inking tutorial [link] This was actually a lot of fun to work on, since I haven't done super-deformed in quite some time. And I definitely took my liberty with what a "lightning bug" looks like.... ^^ Wallpaper-sized for your downloading pleasure! (It's actually my new phone background ^^) (Also, you can't really see the sad lightning bug expressions in the picture unless you full-view...) |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
