The yellow bird of freedom sings without guile
Resting tiny wings that have flapped a thousand miles
His head is shimmering golden, his coat is fire ablaze
He was, and is, and will be--for all the book of days
A boy who saw remembered, and watched with glowing eyes
Nostalgia lingers in beauty, this bird of paradise
He looked at it so gingerly with sad and sweet a smile
--Before you fly away, may I love you for a while?
Not quite the submission I had in mind for yellow day, but since I didn't have time to create anything new, here it is. I won't explain the symbolism--take it as you see it. ^^
The boy here is Rune, an original character (and my first picture of him, yay!) He used to be an angel and now isn't... His eyes are blue-glowing, but it's hard to see because of the lighting in this picture... And his hair is a bit more blue, but again, overdose on yellow lighting made it sort of green-ish.
picture done in painter/photoshop, and poem by me too.
Happy community day, everyone, and much love to this place and the happy memories it has made for us. ^^
I just read a book where a yellow bird symbolizing freedom was repeatedly mentioned: "In Cold Blood" by Truman Capote. The context is a little bit different, though... -__-"
But somethings disturbing me about his expression...
even without that the drawing itself its well..GREAT
you're such an incredible artist... :applause:
Anyway, awesome lights in your pic.
